hey i cant seem to load/save from my memory card. the 32mb that came with it doesnt work. i also bought another one 512. that also doesnt work. the mpc keeps saying "install memory card" im putting it in the right way. i think there is a problem inside with the pins. are there any other ppl w/ this problem? do i need to take it to a repair shop or can i fix it myself? thanks

It's not one of those ones that has a switch in it to write-protect it is it? Was it working b4 and stopped? Or did it never work? Also, maybe take out the card and look inside the drive and see if you have any bent pins...

Naw it doesn't have a switch. I checked the pins inside they don't appear to be bent and it looks pretty intact inside. I bought this 1000 off of ebay. And the seller said it was brand new. But wen I got the receipt it had repair shop on it. Sooooo I don't kno if I bought a new or used one. Yeaa I think I may have gotten skreewed on this one. We kind of repair shop should I take it to. Besided vst?

Before you call for repair you should try a few more things....

Did you try to reset the MPC by holding SHIFT while powering it on? (I think it is SHIFT, or maybe STOP)?

Can you access the CF drive when you connect the MPC USB to your computer?

If so, you can try to upgrade or re-install the OS.

Yeah, I agree. I would try to check if it's something that could be solved with a reinstall of the OS. However, that's wrong that the seller said it was in new condition, and it had a receipt for a repair for the unit.

I always thought it was the "ERASE" key. Seems to work for me...

Do it every time I reinstall...
