Can the 1000 TR-X0X record

This is my favorite way of step recording. I would def get if it did . anyone know this???

Well, it doens't have 16 buttons on a row....so....well, that won't happen I guess....

But how good it the grid mode (if any) on the mpc?

There's no grid mode on the MPCs.

If you like to program using the 16 step TR-xox method, check out Reason. I think most of the sequencers in Reason (there are several) are of that type.
