I just invested in the digi 001, Protools setup, and im kinda worried that the lack of MTC on the 1000, will somehow affect its compatibilty with Protools 6.1.2 running on Mac OS 10.2.8. Does anyone know if there will be limitations as the the syncing issues between the 1000 and Digi 001?.

To be specific i would like to make the 1000 either the slave or master in my recording setup [recording with the digi 001]. Any help is appreicatied, thanks for your help yall!!!!.

Even though it doesn't have MTC it may have MIDI Beat Clock.
Does the 1000 have MBC?
If so, you'll be fine. That's how I sync my XL to the 001.

The 1000 has MIDI clock, at least according to the manual. You should be able to sync with ProTools LE in the same way that you would have done with the 2000XL (I remember seeing a guide to doing this posted somewhere in the 2000XL forum).

I'm not much of a ProTools user...but does the LE version even do MTC? I had heard it didn't...

No, LE doesn't have MTC out of the the box but you can buy some sort of bundle to add it. MTC comes with TDM and HD systems of ProTools. The 1000 HAS to have MBC. There's no way it wouldn't. It should have MIDI beat clock and MIDI machine control. MBC + MMC = Sync
