What' s good everbody i have a mpc 1000 and i need some help with slicing a sample. I've hooked my mpc up to my pc and recorded a sample in stereo mode and the input is analog so that i can hear through both my left and right monitors, but after i record the sample how do i slice it. I've seen a tutorial and someone went to mode and slice and the slice option was available for them, but when i go to mode and slice it doesn't show up what am i doing wrong does it have something to do with the threshold.Image[/url]

GOTO TRIM MODE, FIND THE SAMPLE, THEN PRESS EDIT.

When i press edit it had like three main options dicard extract and normalize when i went to normalize it shows the wavelength the exact same way it was from the movie. I still don't see the slice tab shown above the f5 key

This task requires eyesight

actually, its trim-->find sample-->then press "slice". by the way, you need osV2.1 or JJ os to do this.

If you really want to you can go through and hit window on all the sequences. To delete them, then do the same thing to the programs if you dont need those either...note, if you are going to delete the programs and you dont want the samples make sure you hit mode-program- f6 which is going to be purge.. once everything is gone, you can save an autoload file by pressing mode-save-entire memory-and then press whichever tab is under A.Load and then you will have a clean slate every time you turn your MPC on

Deleting the internal flash memory will not help with your slicing problem because that memory isn't used for that purpose. It's only there for storing and retrieving preset programs/samples etc -- like an internal compact flash card. You need more RAM. No other way to get around this as far as I know...
