OS 2.10 has some serious save/load/directory error bugs. Your best bet is to download unofficial OS 3.06 (it's free) or the NEW OS 4.10 (which is still a free download, but you can't save with it until you pay to unlock the code).

Mindzeye says he's got 2.0, not *even* 2.1. If that's correct it's probably no wonder. Everybody knew 2.0 was a *total* dog.

The JJ OSes are certainly worth a try but he might just want to try downloading 2.1 from the Akai support page first just to see if it makes any difference.

I'll try the 2.1 version first. I was a little unsure about the unoficial versions. are they reliable? what do they offer? Thanks for the help

My advice is to try 'em. More features, streamlined workflow, along with some serious bug fixes including the infamous saving bug fix that distortedtekno mentioned (note: you have to reformat your drives w/the new OS for the fix to work).

In my experience the unofficial systems are at the *very least* no less reliable than the official ones at this point in time. Might as well try 'em and see what you think.

I can't imagine going back to the old OS after using the "JJ" OS. Grid Edit and the streamlined menus alone are worth it. Not to mention you're getting autochromatic, simult, MTC, delay and the list just keeps growing.

the best way in os2.1 to avoid directory erros and all that shit is to use the a.load feature.. if u ever decide to work on another track then save ur song into a new folder instead of autoload.. ever sense i switchd back to os2.1 i found out that to avoid any errors while saving just use autoload.. when u go to save and hit do it ull see the a.load button.. use it it is ur friend
