yo i just got my mpc 1000 and finally got 2 tracks i like and now i want to put them on my computer at high resolution and what i understand is that you have to record the sequence in record mode

so i convert my sequences in 1 song and then play it but while im playing some samples cuts off ! it begins but just stops for no reason but when i play it in song mode withouth that i convert it to song it works perfectly !

i also sometimes have this while im hitting like for example a hi hat on the pads and i make it go real fast like tik tik tik tik tik tik it cuts of another sample

i usualy fix it by changing the name of the sample and then it works egain but it **** sucks its like its a bug or something

o yes and if you copy all the files you have on your mpc and put them on your computer and then erase the files on your memory card
and put them back on egain via your computer does the mpc still have the possibillity to egain play the track and load up the project files and all samples ?

can anybody help me im kinda going mad

Make sure all tracks in the song are of them same program, for example. Say track one is of a snare in Prog 1, make it is the same on every sequence.
And I don't know if you use the "mute tracks ignored", but don't use it. Just maybe delete the track instead on that particular sequence. This usually straightend out all the problems I had w/ song mode.

thx , but it cant be that you have to put everything in a same program there has got to be another way ?

and isnt there another way getting your tracks on the pc becide's converting them in a song and recording them on the mpc ?

no, you misunderstood. The tracks within your sequences should have the same progams as the other tracks. like I was saying track 1 on seq. 1-5 or however you have them should all be progam a for instance, track two prog b etc.... so all of the sequences match up in song mode. If you have different programs on different tracks in the sequences, it will not work because the MPC will not switch the programs once you convert it to a single sequence. This could be why you are having erratic sounds.

As far as getting them to the computer, it depends on what you have. I sequence everything on the MPC, convert it to a song file, export the midi into reason, then render it into a .wav file. If I'm using sounds in the MPC, I record directly from the MPC into Cubase. Or you could record the main outs. but I prefer to get it into cubase. Either way, you're going to have to learn song mode first.

i think i did everything right i dont know :s

this is what i did i made something in sequence 1 and then i copied it to sequence 2 and added something else and so on and so on

and i then muted the things i didnt want in that sequence and when i convert in to song withouth doing that mute thing but in referenced to 1st SQ sounds play true each other randomly ( all the muted stuff then plays true each other )

i dont get it this its crazy and i dont realy understand what you are saying about using the same program in every sequence

is this what you mean track 1 : pgm : program ...
track 2 pgm: sample 1

and then in every other sequence everytime you use that sample 1 or program .... you have to put it under the pgm track 1 for program ... and track 2 pgm : sample 1

if so then how unpracticle is this :s it would be much easier just to copy and mute something you dont want to use and make another type of rythm with the same program on another track

Alot of peeps have that problem and then wonder why song mode doesn't treat them right, exactly right, for all the mpc's, even my triton and asr10, it's the same thing.

All for the same song:
In EVERY sequence, every track 1 should be ie kick.
In EVERY sequence, every track 2 should be ie snare. etc etc

Exactly. Maybe his explaination is a lil bit clearer than mine.

You cannot have:
Sequence 1 Track 1: Snare Prog A
Sequence 2 Track 1: Synth Prog B

if on sequence 2 for instance, you dont want a snare, and don't want to use anything else from that program it should be(this is how I do it)

Sequence 1 track 1: Snare program A
Sequence 2 track 1: (unused)

Instead of muting, I just delete the track to lessen confusion. I know it seems confusing, but this is really the cleanest way to get Song to Sequence to work correctly. It's nothing to it after you under stand it.

ok so i dont ever use the mute button because that is broke

now so i deleted all the muted stuff and gues what it still doesnt work !!!

and if i do that shit referenced to 1st SQ sounds my track just sounds totaly diffrent then it should be

okey now the mute thing worked even better then deleting everything when i deleted it it just did the same thing :s even worse

ok ill tell you what worked before the sounds stop

so i got my synth on track 1 then i mute it for the next sequence and use for instance the same synth program but in track 20 now that all works fine but when i get to bass and toms the sample stops and plays half and some other samples also dont work and go to diffrent pitches and make diffrent sounds ( sounds that are so pitched down i didnt even do that ) altough they are on diffrent tracks then the other sequences

sorry man, other than that, I don't know. I had a few problems with song mode when I first started, but the steps above fixed them.

ok i got it a friend helped me find the source of the problem

By kill frenzy Wed Nov 01, 2006 6:26 pm
well for example i had a pgm on track 21 and in the next sequence i used a diffrent program on track 21 and it didnt play because of that so may never put other pgm's over other pgm's

im happy that thats solved :)
