hi,
i tried the search button but couldn't find an answer to the following question:
i want to buy a soundcard for my computer and i want to know if i would be able to use an spdif input on my soundcard to record my analog mixer, using the mpc to convert it to digital.

I think the Audio Thru capability of the MPC will let you do that. I have not tried it myself but I think you should be able to connect an analog input into the MPC and by the magic of audio thru have that same signal come out of the s/pdif output of the MPC and then you can route that into your soundcard. Check out the detail of the audio thru function of the mpc in the manual.

the manual doesn't really say if you can do the convertion. the examples are either analog or digital, but it doesn't speak of combining the two.
anyone here tried this?

I've not tried it myself, but what Pendulum suggests seems like it should work.

Yes it does, this is how I record my vinyl into my computer. The turntable goes into my MPCs analog ins and out of my MPC via SPDIF to my soundcards SPDIF input.
