Why is it that...

ok since my soundcard is sh!t and when i record into software from my mpc i get mad noise, i tried just sending STEREO OUTS >to> STEREO INS and sampling the beat in the RECORD screen. wether or not i use stereo or mono, when it records itself, it gets a very metalic digital sh*ty sound to it and is un-satisfying. i have yet to find a way to work around the noise that my soundcard makes when i put a beat down, alas all myy beats have sounded poor. still struggling to find a way but i guess its just time to dish out money for a new soundcard..

if it's any consolation, your beats always sound good to me. i spend less time focusing on sound quality and more time listening for compositional skill

you could record the track to the mp itself and transfer it it the computer as a wav file. then process it like that. you would then be bypassing recording through the soundcard at all.

as far as the noise, could it be the instrument lines are bad? maybe your souncard is going bad, have you tried another setup?

im starting to feel that too. at least that is a dedicated piece of equipment "built" for the purpose of recording.

yeah thats what ive been tryin to do but i get this weird metalic feedback sound and it ruins the beat.

you get the sound when resampling to the mpc too? that sounds like an issue with your outputs on the mpc. what exactly are you doing?

well the most basic otion, stereo outs to ins.. record screen

to ins on the soundcard or the mpc?

i was having this problem too - kinda like a buzzy earth sound?

it stopped when i changed leads and ran thru a mixer to my soundcard card.

i think it's an earth problem, don't know too much about it tho...

no solution, but much empathy.

do you know you dont have to run lines in order to resample? try this:

load your song/sequence

open the record screen

highlight the input and select main out instead of stereo

hit f6 which is record and hit play

you wont see any movement on the monitor, but the mpc will record itself. you can solo each track and record, rename and save them as samples for transfering to the daw of your choice.

(above) yeah thats the way to do it - its feedback your getting when your sending the outputs from your mp to the inputs on your mp - youl always get that noise doing it that way wax

all you have to do is change it to "MAIN OUT" on the record screen, bro.

i think that you were overthinking that one

yeah when i first got my mp... i tried your method.... its horrible and i have no idea why it makes this hollow robot metallic tunnel sound... but when you record from the MAIN OUT function you need no wires and you wont see sound appear in the record screen.... stop when you want to... then playback the sample. sounds way better don't it?
