Was Trying to Upgrade my OS, ended up downgrading. HELP PLS

I just recently aquired a new Black MPC1000, and was loving it, so much that I nerded out and thought it'd be a good idea to upgrade the OS, as I was browsing the MPC1000 section of the Akai Website. Thinking to myself... "this sounds like a good idea, and hey, I'll even have a backup file of the .bin file for the future"... today i realized that it seems like the OS is more like the old MPC2000 OS which didn't make sense to me, as far as "Upgrades" go.

So the most recent version of the MPC1000 Operating System is 1.07. Now in retrospect, I should have realized that the newest OS would have already been on the brand new mpc1000 i just purchased.

Long story short... I haven't experienced any problems.. but then again, I haven't even really done too much with the beats i had made yet cus i've been obscessing on how i can undo this cutious-kat-type-problem. I'd like to go back to the OS I had when I bought this MPC1000 less than a month ago. If possible the newest OS. And maybe even some kind of explanation as to why Akai would be so legligent or neglectful as far as keeping their site UpToDate.

where am i to aquire the original OS that came with my new Black MPC1000, which I'm guessing is v.2.0 ?
- and how official/trusted will this site be, seeing as the actual Official Akai website lacks this newest OS.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

and I apologize for posting on a subject that might have been covered redundantly. 4give me. I searched back almost 20 pages and didn't find any posts with any kind of direct explanation or solution.

As much as my curiosity would will me to try "the newest" OS version, but seeing as I paid a almost 200 Bucks for a warranty, I was informed that Akai doesn't cover non Akai Operating Systems.

So I'm basically looking for OS version 2.0 for the newly released Black version of the MPC1000, or some kind of technical superfix reboot type of thing that would perhaps bring it back to factory preset as far as the OS (.bin file) is concerned.

go to akai's website and download OS 2.10 (which fixes bugs on the OS 2.0 that came stock with your mpc1000.

I'm not sure why this is but some people have reported stumbling over an outdated version of the Akai support page that only lists v1.07 as the latest OS. This page may have been left accessible due to some confusion during the Numark buyout/restructuring operation. Try the following:

I can see both 1.07 and 2.10 available on this page (trust me, you don't want 2.00!)

I understand why you don't want to install the 3rd party job if you are under warranty. It's getting pretty good thou. Once you have 2.10 you could just try loading the free 3rd party version (3.06) and just re-flash with 2.10 if you need some "service" but don't tell anybody that heh heh.....

I actually wasn't going to respond until I remembered that some people had stumbled onto that whack outdated support page. It's sorta understandable in that case...

hollar at your boys at Akai.. and tell them to get their support pages situated.. and i wouldn't have to have my hand held...

outdated support pages are very wack. they lack all manifestations of social grace.
