somebody please tell me my prayers ben answered..memory jack

aight main.. i got a "friend" right.. well he picked up a laptop and uhm well lets jus say on the way home he uhm dropped.. so it basically useless he can't sell that to nobody...


but i was mad so i jus kept chuckin it at walls and such and the thing is all types of pieces.. for whatever reason i still took it home..

and i'm lookin at it.. and i';m pullin all tyeps of electronic ish out of it..

and i stumble across this piece...

it says 32m x 64

my question is this..

1. is this memory? and how can i tell what kind is it? i mean its either 32mb or 64mb right? its about 3 inches big and it gots 4 black squares on it.. but the only writin i can make out on it is the thoshiba part above everything else is like to be faded and ish...


2. i read the thread on the memory 256mb for the mpc1k but my question is this... what would happen if you stuck like a 64mb pc 133/100 stick on it? i mean i know it wont' max out the mem but shoot all i'm lookin for is any extra time i can get on it.. ya feel me? so would stickin somethign less then the 256mb do anything? i.e. give me a few more seconds of sample time or is mandotary that the only other option is the 256mb stick?


i can't afford the memory but if this joint is the memory then d*m i don't need to buy nathing...

and yo as far as using and beign on computers i'm new to all that...

so any knowledge forth is mad appreicated

now its another $190...how am i gonna pay that..

n i was almost done payin my hospital bill too...

damn man, sounds like you need to lay low for a while....i don't know if your ram will work. if it does, it'll give you 32 megs, which should be pretty decent if you use it right.

meanwhile, sample at 45 and pitch down 5.11 semitones to save room!

DAMN DONT FORGET TO GET THE HARD DRIVE SOME MPC 2500 PEOPLE CAN USE THAT

The 1000 people as well but I wonder what condition the harddrive will be in after smashing a laptop into a wall.

damn, i hope it wasn't under warranty or else you could have just got a new laptop.

nah no worries my brothers... i dropped the laptop on my way home from "pickin" it up... then in frustration as a result of that is when i jus picked it up and jus threw it at the wall... basics all that work for nothing cuz in jumpin over this wall it slipped out and fell like 10 feet..so it was garbage at that point or so i thought... but the pawn shop still gave me some flow for it! $30... d*m never thought of pullin the hard drive...

but yo case in point I went ahead and popped the memory in.. it was mad eazy... now my machien take longer to boot up but it flashes for a split second 128MB installed.. yeah baby!! now i'm rockin... I had got this ill sample like 40 seconds long and it couldn't do nothin wit it cuz A etime i tried to chop it/extract it would say insuffience memory..but now i'ma bout to come wit it...

so i feel blessed regarless cuz it like i saved myself $75....

oh yeah i went to court last week and the judge reduced my ticket down to Failure to Obey Officer... and brought it down to $84... still more then i can afford.. anyone got any experience wit that? I mean i'ma write and plead not guilty to it.. but i don't know what the next step is... all this cuz I was tryin to go home.. it was a two lane road and he would let me take a right, he said i had to go left.. i was tellin him i live right there would take me ten seconds to pull in and get home.. but he wasn't havin that... and tried to get me on some BS disorderly contact...

i appreciate any help wit that...
