Can't find slice when trimming a sample??

hey guys, so i was browsing youtube for some mpc tutorials and i come across one tutorial video about chopping up samples. i noticed that there was a slice option right next to edit in the video, yet i don't have that on my mpc. Any ideas?? sorry if this is a fairly retarded question but i'm at a loss with this thing!
