Playback speeds up while recording thru digital.

when i go to record and switch over too digtial 'spdif' the playback speeds up? and ideas on what this is? as soon as i come back outta record its fine again, (im kinda new too the mpc had it a week or 2) the analog works fine . im just trying too record some base thru midi from my keyboard into reason and back out thru digital into the mpc. kinda annoying thoguh cause what im recording at the moment is too fast for the actual track. anyone else have this trouble? help would be greatly appreciated.. pzz

this happens whenever you send info to or from the dig out that is not in 16 bit 44100 khz. make sure your source is at those specs and you should be fine.
