Question about using effects...

So I'm kinda confused on this, I can only put effects on two separate pads or the whole sequence? Is there a way to put effects on particular track? For example, I want to EQ my snare on track 2 and my sample on track 5, however, they would be different settings of course, is this possible? I don't know how much use I can get out of the effects if I can just put them on only two separate pads. Help me out yall!

not really possible, unless you resample each sample after EQing them.. but why dont you EQ and add FX after you track your beat into your daw?

personally, i feel like the mpc's FX are pretty lame.

i do use the delay sometimes.. and bit grunge SOMETIMES..

but besides that, its mostly alllll rawwwww shittttt

i love the effects in the mpc1000.. the trick to them is knowing the tics and taking advantage of the v= settings the power is in the pads i shit u not ...ya always resample ur work on the mpc1000...ur end results will be pleasing

using only 2 fx for an entire track is to flat..sculpt ur sound and resample

thats what the f~ck I'm talking about. the only effect i have a problem with is the bit grunger, its OD ,even at low setting. It would probably sound better if i layer the bit grunge sample with the original, and keep the bit grunge sample at low volume--- hope i remember to try that later.

I don't sample beats, so this might not work for everyone (I only use one off samples, like a kick drum, or a snare, or high hat, or whatever). But I add effects on a sample on the computer (with high quality plugins), and then load the samples into the MPC with the effect on it.

It takes a lot of space to do it, say when you have a long reverb and a kick drum sample lasts like 10 seconds with the reverb decay, but hey, that is why there is the memory upgrade and the hard drive upgrade!

Believe it or not Acid 4.0 has some nice effects and a ill azz eq! didnt realize until i inadvertenly stumbled on it, if you use acid to chop.

i agree with esk, i very rarely ever use the effects unless it's the eq or compressor on some very low volume stuff. i mean the reverb is ok and delay's cool but i dont see myself working with that at a compositional level. i see that stuff happen later, in Acid w/ good direct x plugins, not the mpc's comparatively weak FX.

someone else said in a different post that they're good for a representation of what you wnat later, and that you can just remove em while tracking. that's cool. however, when resampling, you have to be DAMN sure that those changes are what you want, otherwise you may have to reprogram a lot ofyour work ify oud ecide to change it.

if they've all you got (or are the most convenient option) use em for all they're worth, that's the story of the mpc1000
