Is it possible to shift one sample 1 or two ticks later or earlier on the 1000 like on the 2000xl?

Is it realy important? :?:

Should this stop me buying one>?

"Is it possible to shift one sample 1 or two ticks later or earlier on the 1000 like on the 2000xl? "

Yes, it is possible.

"Is it realy important?"

If you do not know the answer to that, then it should not stop you.

It is under Seq Edit.

This has been covered at least a couple of times in this forum.

no mention of moving by ticks.

which page then???

the 'moving events' section has no clear mention of Earlier or Later shifting.

this is a joke.

Akai have left out the most basic yet powerful feature called 'Shift Timing'.

they were better off leaving it as a feature as supposed to calling it events editing. it doesnt make the mpc fun any more.

those who know what Shift Timing is capable of, know how important it is.

The price of the new MPC1000 is alot lower comparing to the other members of the MPC family, so this might be a good reason why some features are missing ( if they really are missing). If you want to have all the options, well then you have to buy the more expensive model. Afterall... for them it is just a business :) But dont forget that the 1000 comes with 4+2 outputs and the efect card.

the MPC 1000 is an improvement over the 2000xl by far.

i have just found out that shift timing is now called events editing.

so that i guess is it.

Akai have not segmented the 1000 as a lower end machine.

how can u say that when the 1000 costs the same as the 2000xl in the UK.

personally i feel that the 2000xl is well outdated if you look at the differences overall between 1000 and 2000xl.

Where I live, the price of 2000 + 8 output card + efect card is more then TWICE the price of the 1000. So I guess we are looking at things from two different points of view.

so i shouldn't worry about there being no shift tick because it is called events editing?
How does it work
Is it the same?
