Is there a feature to "fit" a sample into a bar? Or is that just the magic of getting samples right? Ive got a few things I want to fit nice and snug into a 1 bar then repeat right away, change the tempo or pitch of the sample? Slow it down? Adding or taking away bars will make things fit, but often leaves dead space ... sometimes unwanted...

Make sure they are chopped accurately, if not they will never fit. also use tap tempo to get you in the ballpark of the correct bpm.

Yeah I can chop stuff pretty accurately but sometimes when I get just the sound I want it isnt "long enough" or short enough. When you say change the beats per minute... do you mean in the tsig?

nah...the bpm on mp. say if its 90 bpm....make it 90.8 or whatever until the loop works how you want. either that or adjust pitch on turntable and resample (dj style) or use 16 levels and play with the pitch that way to make it work..easy $money.

Ahhh, why is it always the simpler things. I must have been thinking "if you slow down the beat, the sounds will slow down too" but thats not true! That worked perfectly. Plus Im trying to squeeze pretty massive samples in, almost like playing a lead instrument in the mpc, I need to find another device... I may start a post or read up more but the MicroKorg or something similar seems cool.. you can put your own sounds in that thing cant you?

I use the ASR 10 for most of my sampling these days and link it to my MPC 1000...they work beautifully together. Dont know about the Korg tho. glad to help.1.
