Digital in's and outs?

all synced on the midi front. What i can't get working is the digital out from my emu 0404 usb2 to the mpc 1000. some has spoke about the master and slave regarding digi out and in. As i believe there is nowhere in the mpc to set this, or is there? Also the digi out how do you send via the digi out? nearly there,

Could write a song on the 8th day of christmas " i set ip my digi out's"
