MPC 1000, Motif ES Rack and Korg K61P MIDI Controller

Help please. can't seem to get it going. I must be an idiot. please be nice and walk me through the connections if what I am trying to do is even possible.

i'd like to be able to control the motif with the pads on my mpc
and
control the motif with the controller
and
control the sounds of the mpc with the controller

is this possible and if so how should my set-up look?

Controller = 1 MIDI out port
Rack = 1 in, 1 out and 1 thru
MPC = 2 in and 2 out

What goes in must come out young man!! that is the simple way to make sure you dont get confused when using midi.

so exactly as you want it is exactly how you must plug it in.

1. CONTROLLER OUT -> MPC 1 IN
2. MPC A OUT -> MOTIF IN

DO THIS EXACTLY AS AS I SAID!!!
This process is called a daisy chain.. Using the MPC 2 (MIDI B) out means you have to set the recieving end to recieve channels from 1B-16B this is why its not working but i can gues you did not read the manual or do midi 101 to know this. so do as i said above and you will be ok.

thank you but my korg controller still isn't working.

i can control the motif no problem from the mpc but that's it.

i'd like to be able to control the motif and the mpc from the controller when sequencing into the mpc.

i have read page 46 in the manual and been online. from stereoroid's midi lessons to you name it. am missing something here. please help.

it's working now. thanks for your help.

my midi keyboard had a feature where when it was usb powered it wasn't sending midi data. all i had to do was buy a DC adapter and voila.
