as an Akai vet I used to have an SO1 and I have now just copped my MPC100 and my question is this: My SO1 used to have a release mode where the sample would not stop playing the second you lifted your finger of the button/pad based upon the parameters set for example you could say half a second after release etc. It was very useful to fade out stabs and vocals etc. Is there a similar function for the MPC? I have looked but to no avail. Any ideas? Is the a 16 levels thing? Thanks and all that.

in program/sample mode you should highlight the level field then press the window button. This gives you access to the sample envelope settings. not as precise as with the s01, but you can set the release duration.
