pad sensitiviy

how do you turn up pad sensitivity on 1k. Im new to the MPC line so a few pointers would really help. ive only worked with the dr. sampler and the korg esx-1. obviously those don't compare, but the dr. sampler is perfect for dirtying drums up. one of my pads is really bad, i have to push with my thumb with all my arm strength just to get an audible sound when im in the preset "DJ hip hop" its the same even when i load samples onto that pad. sensitivity levels screwed up, or faulty pad? Any help would be awesome

I'm guessing it's a pad, but from bootup, press Mode > Pad10 > F4 and check your pad sensitivity there.
