why is my ram not working????

I followed exactly what it says in the stickied topic above. I ordered it online, this is what is says on the package
SDSO133, 256 MB, 144P, SDRAM, SO DIMM, PC133, 3.3v, Sync, (32X8), CL3

when I installed it and turn on my MP the screen lights up but nothing comes up, nothing....wtf????
I installed it just the way it ssays to do so on the youtube video, why doesn't this work??

I'm new here, so I replied to this just to be apart of this forum! I have nothing to add in regards to your question, however, I am too about to install some memory I bought off of ebay and am researching ho to do it before I actually do it. I'm going to look for that video you referred to on utube.

Does it work again if the RAM is removed?

That would tend to mean bad or improperly seated RAM (assuming it's the correct type).

If not, do the buttons light up? If so, try adjusting the contrast (SHIFT + DATA WHEEL w/Akai OS or STOP + DATA WHEEL w/"JJ" software)

naw the lights don't tunr on and I tried changing the contrast, no luck. it works fine once i remove the ram.

Bad RAM.

Before you chalk it up to bad RAM, try reinstalling it a couple of times... make sure it is fully seated and clicks in. Don't force it, but it may require a firm push. Always make sure you touch something metal before you touch your ram so that you have no built up static electricity in your body. Static can damage your RAM. This is especially important in the winter, since static buildup is much more common in the dry air. Also, after installing your RAM, try a factory reset. I think it is POWER ON while holding ERASE.
