Putting Pad Back Together

I took apart a few of my pads to check the carbon sensor seeing as they were slowly losing sensitivity, but im having trouble getting the pads back on as tight as the pads i havent touched.. the pads make a irritating sound like im banging metal on plastic.. i put my 1000 back in the box and using my 2000xl until i can repair this.. can you guys offer any help??? thanks!

very carefully, but firmly grip the metal frame together with a pair of small pliers. make sure the frame is set evenly and apply pressure on opposite sides at a time. it's a bit tricky at first, but be gentle and you'll get the hang of it.

kinda sucked cause it was my number 1 pad and its hard to get the parts that are on the inner parts... guess i just gotta keep trying..
