Midi control/ assigning pads

Hi, hope this isn't a daft question.
Are you able to assign the pads to different midi notes and trigger sounds from a software sampler like the Redrum in Reason?
I'm thinking of moving from a padkontrol with Reason but would still like to trigger some samples from Reason without having to sample into the MPC first.
Basically I would like to use the MPC like a Midi pad controller as well as an all in one unit.

yes indeed you can, all the pads are fully assignable to midi notes - you can also now use the Qlink faders on the MPC to control onscreen elements in Reason over MIDI. This is a new feature introduced through the third party OS by JJ. (see other forum on this site)

Looks like the padkontrol will probably become redundant if I go for an MPC
