Mpc1000 sonar 4 pe

Hello everyone. Is there a way i can have midi channels A(1-16) set up where i can you use the keyboard for that, and then have midi channels B(1-16) where i can have vsts sound from sonar. Basically, Im trying sequence my sounds using the mpc1000. Can someone explain how to do this?

Anyone got an answer besides reading the manual. I want to have my setup like what spraq did to reason
