DONE THE A TO B TEST IN THE STUDIO AGAINST THE 2000XL

Spend good part of the day loading my samples from the XL into the 1000 and i have to say hands down


GOODBYE TO THE 1000

The 1000 has no GRIT/PUNCH/BOTTOM END/

Sorry guys but when i put them both through my KRK'S the truth came out.

The A to D convertors are made from TOILETPAPER.

I selected the same batch of samples from hard kicks to snappy snares and all sounded tuff through the 2000xl,The 1000 sounded very clean and cheap,even with the master FX section it sounded plastic.

I have just packed my 1000 back in the box and getting my money back tomorrow morning.

if i understand correctlly that sounds transferred from a 2000xl have to be converted to wav and then loaded to 1000. but with conversion isnt there going to be diffs. also woundnt the bit grunger dirty up the sound.

I have been very happy with the MPC1000. While I haven't finished the correct double-blind testing (to avoid that placebo effect), it sounds good initially to me against my MPC3000 and MPC2000XL.

If u wanna b some sort of stalker and collect people's messages then so be it,

I still like the original 3000 sound but don't enjoy the old features.

The 2000xl is still very raw sounding,but for me the 1000 is to clean and new sounding.

The conversion shouldn't make any difference, SND and WAV use the same amount of space to carry essentially the same information. Besides, you can use WAVs on both the 2000xl and the 1000.

Personally, I'll wait to hear the difference for myself. If the damn thing would just get here already...

If really do not like the convertors there is always the digital I/O.

Did you make sure you were monitoring each sample (on each machine) at the exact same volume according to VU meters?

The more i've been working with the two machines today the more i can here how raw and punchy the 2000xl is.

The levels are both the same on these machine's aswell as the samples.

Even put them through some of my outboard.

When you turn off the internal master Fx on the 1000 it sounds really shit then.

I am not sure if I believe macman. Here is a chronological listing of a few of his messages easily searchable in the forum. Note that he mentions having an MPC3000 before he even receives it. He praises the MPC1000 one hour and then curses it another. And then he attempts to disclaim himself by saying "only sayin what i heard". It is pretty obvious he is trolling and needs to be called on it. I doubt he has ever owned a single MPC.

Got mine today!!!! Sounds like the 3000,Smooth,punchy,plus the Fx and the usb is a bonus.
Not sure if you cats noticed but you can use High Pass and Low Pass which makes it so much easier for clean ...

Since i put the new OS on it didn't get a crash.
I had the 1000 and 2000 set up last night next to each other and the 1000 really does sound so much better, feels tight ...
