i did a search but found no results on exactly this, i have a problem, everytime i convert a chopped sample in me 1000 the sound quality of the chopped samples have diminished drastically, it almost sounds mono and hazy, i have the latest FREE jj os not the newest one however and just wondering is there a way to improve the quality of the chops. whats odd is that the original sample in my mpc that i chopped from sounds normal, while in slice mode it sounds normal but when i convert it boom sound quality is s*#&
thanks

In the newer version stereo chopping is enabled, get it!

Using the slice function converts the sample into mono samples which in certain samples which have a large difference between the left and right channels causes the slices to sound distorted or different to the original, best thing to do is to chop the sample manually by extracting the individual parts you want...

this is a bug in the akai os, and having switched to the jj os let me jus say that having stereo chops is nice...
