Hey guys
I sold my MPC1000 6 months ago.... no offense, but I really dont want the "sampler" part of the MPC...or the sequencer for that matter..just the feel and the workflow.... I have a question and although I have searched for hours on the forum I can't find an answer. If I find an answer to this question I'm buying one first thing in the morning...its driving me craaazy
CAN I ACHIEVE THIS WITH ANY MPC??
OK...
With an MPC1000 slaved to cubase, can I send the MIDI patterns from the MPC back to cubase to be recorded on a MIDI channel? I want to use only VSTi drums (Stylus/Reason) and I want to edit all of my performances in the Cubase sequencer. I also want to be able to alter the pitch/sound/patch of the drums after the fact...so I dont want to have to take the conventional route of sampling and recording the output of my sampler into the computer.
Basically, I love the swing of the MPC, I love the workflow, I love syncing it as a slave to cubase to hear all my vocals and instruments but I want to be able to edit the MIDI in cubase.
For me this would be the ultimate because
1: Most of the drum samples I want to use are in Stylus and reason. I wouldnt degrade the sound quality of the samples by rerecording them back via my soundcard.
2: I could edit my creative "performances" from the MPC with ease as MIDI data in Cubase.
3: I would have that awesome, sexy groove back again that has been so lacking since I sold my MPC
I have tried just using an M-Audio trigger finger but with the quantize in cubase...it just aint the same thing...
thanks in advance
mike
