Memory Card Issue.

I'm in a bit of a pickle. I just got my mpc 1000. and I'm new to the mpc world. and I have a question.

when I try loading sounds and samples from the memory card, I put the memory card the slot and the mpc seems to freeze and won't let me move any where. is like in a "hault". and it won't let me load. so then when I take the memory card out then it resumes back to normal but with no sounds in my mpc 1000.!???

is that normal!?

if not wa should I do!?

and if it is normal...wa is there to do!?

how can I load up my samples and sounds to my mpc 1000!?
