For starters I can't seem to get my computer to read that something is connected to the usb. I think I must be doing something wrong because it wouldn't recognize it on my cousins either. Secondly once I get the usb operational, where do I go to get the download for the os.
Thanks for the help. By the way I'm an MPC newbie and proud of it.

You shouldn't try to take everything out of context bro. When I said in a few months watch out. I wasn't meaning i'm personally aiming at you. Just that hopefully I can put some heat down with this nice piece of equipment. Thanks for the help though

I really can't figure out why my computer isn't recognizing the mpc. the manual acts like the computer should instant recognize it as soon as it is pluged in but I get nothing.

Stashy, you've done everything according to the manual? Page 85.
MODE - LOAD or SAVE - USB. Then plug it into your computer.

It's time to get some samples in. I have the sample I want in the memory card but How do I get it and asign it to a pad. Sorry if these questions are basic but I'm a new user so please bare with me.

This is all in the manual, but here ya go. Now I will try this blind, I'm at work on break,
1. Hit the "MODE" button
2.hit the pad "LOAD"
3. the screen will follow you thru
4. hit the "F" button of your choice I like to listen fist hit "PLAY"
5. If you like it select a button or "PAD" that is unused and then select the "KEEP" option the sound will be assigned to that pad.
6. be sure to send it to a pad that is not being used, reason: the MPC1K will "LAYER" sounds, this is a great new option but if you don't know what your doing, it can be a pain.

Have fun!!
read the manual : )

The best way to learn is to ask those with the knowledge and listen.
