Just wanted to ask if this was the correct alternative to buying the AKAI memory expansion card.

If u are a fan of Ebay u can sometimes find the Akai Expansion for like 30-40 bucks. Just search around on there if u want to consider that route.

I got my Toshiba CL3 memory for $25 delivered, NEW.

just make sure it says PC133 CL3 SODIMM 256MB.
