I used to have an ASR-10 but sold it when I got my 1000. Now I really need a keyboard to use as a controller.

I have limited space so I'm thinking I'll go with an Oxygen8, however if I would be able to assign the REC/PLAY buttons on the MIDI keyboard to sync with the REC/PLAY functions of the MPC then I could get a much larger board and have it a separate area of the room.

Is this possible? It seems I saw it somewhere before in the options but now I can't find it.

(Using latest JJ OS)

Ah shit, just remembered what I was doing - I was assigning functions for the Sliders to work in Reason, so that's not quite the same thing

It would be great if this would be possible though so someone fill me in...

Thanks

you could use a footswitch to control overdub and play

I don't believe REC and OVERDUB are available via midi. PLAY/STOP/CONTINUE
are standard midi realtime. So, use the midi for normal play and a pair of footswitches to kick it into REC and OVERDUB (+PLAY or PUNCH, to your tastes..)
