sampling into mpc from mbox 2, anyone doing this? thoughts?

have my mpc in a few hours, will have upgraded ram by the end of the week

i was wondering if any of you use Reason and VSTs in a host like Live/Protools/Cubase etc with your mpcs sampling capability

i was thinking about for example, syncing the pc with the mpc running reason... do all my sequencing off the mpc, and have the outputs of my pc running into my mpc1000. the newer OSes have the mpc2500 direct input feature, correct? so you hear whats coming out the pc right thru the mpc out the speakers?

and then for instance take that audio and sample it, then do whatever you want to it as a sample in the mpc realm;)


anybody doing this? thoughts, experience, opinions, ideas?

I have yet to decide if i want to purchase the mbox 2 or the mbox2 pro, but i have been using reason with protools and there is even a video out there on "how to use reason with the mpc", he shows how to connect it but the problem is i don't see how to use it with the regular mbox 2. i was planning to run my keyboard into midi in on the mpc 1000 and midi out into my mbox2(that i dont have yet), to use with protools later. pretty soon im going swith to strictly vst's on protools and mpc 1000 , I might be blind but i havt seen anyone explain the propper setup.

I have an Mbox2, PT, Reason 2.5, Cubase SX3, oxygen 8 v1 and a mpc 1000. I don't have the new JJ OS (Got to get it.) Any how I have been using Reason and the mpc 1k as seperate sequencers and of course I sync evrything in cubase using the Mbox's ASIO drivers. I find that it's the best timming I get. I have had trouble using PT as the host and reason racks as plugins, the timming was all off. I also switched and used reason as a sound module (like in the video) and had the mpc 1k as the master. I was able to record the notes from reason's sound modules and have them play back however that gave me timming issues as well.

I run all midi thru the mbox I don't get any issues the way I am set up now. Beleive me when I say the way I run things is'nt the most effecient however until I buy the JJ Os or some one explains to me what I am doing wrong I will keep doing it the hard way....
