mpc 1000 mmc

does anyone know how I can make my mpc mmc wrk in cubase so that it dosent record on the mpc soo I can use my mpc 1000 to control the cubase transport controls instead of recording in the mpc cause I hate sequencing in the Mpc 1000 sum of u like but I dont its preference, but I was wondering if there was a way to set it up soo wenI hit record on the mpc it only records in cubse instead of the mpc, jus wondering if its possible???? YOUR GUYS HELP WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!!

Akai MPC 1000 software does not implement Midi Machine Control.

so if you don't like sequencing on the MPC then why did you buy it?

i thought the sequencer was the main selling point?

anyways, i think the JJ OS takes care of your problem.

not positive, but i'm leaning that way.

I agree with cap (what a waste of money) mpc has now become one of my main sequencers this was one of its main selling points. As for controlling cc's i hadn't noticed anything untill loading in the latest jjos and now the sliders can control stuff.


But dude you have seriously spunked some huge cash on the wrong machine (mpd16 i think is what u need less than a 3rd the price) if thats what you were after (i maybe wrong only owned my mpc for about a week and a half so i certainly don't know it all but its such an easy machine to use <---- the reason i bought it)

i use it as my sampler because im moving away from fruity loops because I hate digital sound ya know and I dont have a keyboard (Synthesizer/Workstation) I know u guys were gonna say it was a waste of money but I didnt buy it, it was a gift, but I might start sequencing in it and just learn more ot it but sumbody told me to slave the mpc to cubase, im using nuendo 2.0 thoe soo I dont know if theres a difference.. I know a guy whos doing the same thing with his asr-10 hes using it for his drum sounds instead of sequencing in it......but i;ll try to slave it wen I get home, but if anyone else has other suggestions please let me know.....

Uh, sorry to break this to you but the MPC is a digital device. So is every other piece of gear you mentioned. So you're not moving away from "digital sound".

Now if you picked up a REAL analog synth, a mellotron, and a studio quality reel-to-reel analog tape deck, THEN you would be talking.

u know what I mean about digital sound, im talkin bout the fruity loops sound if u have ever used it, it sounds just like its name FRUITY! im not hatin on fruity loopsi jus dont like the sounds they have well sum of the sounds they have and I like using cubase/nuendo anyways soo its all good.......but i'll try to figure out how to do it.....but if ANYONE! has any sugestions still let me know....

Everybody has there own workflow and the mpc as a sequencer/drum machine suits mine.

Thats one of the most creative tools ive ever dropped into my studio and ive only owned it a week.

If you find something else more creative use it.

Or sell it buy what u need and let somebody who will use it use it

No, why would I?

If it's digital audio, it's digital sound. Only difference is slower processors or cruddy/cheapo FX and instrument algorithms and cheapo/cruddy A/D D/A hardware.

Main difference between Fruity and the MPC is the sequencer interface, but you can load up the same samples in both and send the midi from either setup into the other and get the same effect. You might get some midi latency, but hey windoz midi sux. Use the S/pdif I/O between the MPC and a good sound card and it shouldn't sound any different otherwise.

you need the jj os - download the manual for the jj os an it will tell you
Im not sure if you can get mmc with the free version but you can with the most up to date paid for one

the mmc has limitaions so check in the manual before you buy
