Naming the final program when saving all programs and sounds

This is somewhat of a repost. I originally posted it in the JJ OS forum, but the response was lukewarm (thanks for the suggestion, though, Antonym).

I wasn't sure is this is a problem that is encountered by all MPC 1000 users (including those using the JJ OS) or if it is something that is exclusive to JJ OS users.

My dilemma is, whenever I try to save a program encompassing all programs and sounds, it is saved with (by default) the name "Program01". Now, when I try to load said program after saving previously, I encounter a message telling me that Program01 already exists and whether I would like to replace it. I normally choose yes, but when I go to the main screen and scroll through the available programs, none of the programs that should be there, are.

I guess I'd like to know if there is a way to give a unique name to my "all programs and sounds" program so that I won't encounter this anymore. I know that on my 2000XL, this is possible, but for some reason I can't do it on the 1000.

This is odd to me because that was almost commonplace for me with the 2kxl.

i do the save all. either like lamp said in diff folders for each thing. or ill just keep my flashcards clean and keep archived dumps of em on the pc. only putting what i need for a single project on each card and use multiple cards for multiple projects.

What I do and alot of people is create a folder for each song and all the samples, seq's, and programs that go with it.

Sounds like you are having problems program01 cause you have everything in one folder for different songs or are not using folders like I described above.

Do you save everything to the root folder? Bad choice.

More organization and seperation of song projects and you should be straight.

I actually do save all my new songs in a new folder. And I have been saving new versions of each program that I make an changes to. I never save various programs and sequences all within the main folder directory.

I guess I'm just expecting the save all programs and sounds feature to work like that on the 2000XL and it just won't.

So, you're telling me that you have saved all programs and sounds with the default name of "Program01" and been able to load up all of the respective programs and sounds for that song by loading that "Program01" at a later time?

Or are you just taking the long route like the rest of use by saving programs individually?
