Question on Using reason 3.0 Redrum Kits on MPC1000???

Whats up everyone, I just recently purchased a black MPC1000 brand new
Ive had it for about a week now and im starting to get a hang of this lil powerful machine.
Ive been using the sounds that came with it but im getting very sick of them.
I used reason 3.0 for about a yr now and I have a lot of drum sounds such as hi hats , kicks, snares , cymbals , and kits that I usually load up to the redrum . is there any way to use these on my mpc? I spent a whole bunch of money on those sounds and kits and I would absoulty love to use them on my mpc1000. is this even possible to do?

I currently have a tascam us-144 souncard, a m-audio 49 midi controller, and my beloved MPC1000.

If anyone can help it wil be much appreciated .

I see theres a thread about reason and the mpc1000 but I did not find anything about this.

run your audio cables out of your audio interface into the mpc

go to record on the mpc

record the one shots

chop them and save them as single samples.

very simple

1. the sounds you use in redrum are they wave files? if so you can just put them on your flash card and load em up in the mpc


2....if there refills u gotta use the refill extracter which can be found to extract the refills

Ok ,so i can save all my drum sounds from reason onto my Compact Flash Card Akai Gave me correct? its 32mb only but theres some stuff on it already.
So basically i load my compact flash card into my Labtop, open the file with the files on the CF Card delete those files , and then basically drag the sounds i want into the flash card? Ima tottaly newbie to all of this so please forgive me. Also the other technique i tryed to sample a kick froma Twista song lol
and when i sampled just the kick i had to divide it into to slices? how do i cut it so its just one sample?? thanks again for all the help.. Wes

BTW, how do the samples sound?

The other option is to record it back into the computer, chop and transfer.

i record my samples from cubase from my labtop, don’t have a turntable yet….
Basically how I tried to sample was, played the cd found the spot I wanted which was a kick in the beginning of the track. I went into record mode got the sample I wanted , then went into the trim page. There it was waskin me to slice the sample into the min of 2 slices??? Im tottaly new to the MPC so please be understanding. I have a love for music and I love the feel of this machine… Also , by wav files with short file names ? what exactly do u mean , like the name shouldn’t be too long??? Sorry about all the newbie questions. I read the manual everyday when I get a chance, looks like I have to do more reading….

if you are used to using reason, and want to use the sounds on the mpc, why don't you use reason as a sound module for the mpc? if you want to know how to do that, check out my video. you can find it at http://www.myspace.com/sparq1g

Thanks alot sparq, ive seen all of your videos on youtube and they were a big help getting me started , ive seen the video on using reason as a sound module thats the pla i have to use reason as a sound module. Im just not to savy on what wires and hook ups. My plan is to use all the synths, pianos, horns, bells whistles,bass etc. and play those on my midi controller, and to use the drum sounds from reason and play them on my mpc. This is all possible right?
