WHAT THA DEAL...
I BEEN PRODUCIN HIP-HOP FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS NOW USING MOSTLY COMPUTER BASED SOFTWARE LIKE REASON 2.5, AND FRUITY LOOPS...THEY ARE ALRIGHT..BUT I REALLY LIKE THE HAND ON APPROACH OF THE AKAI...I HAVE BEEN RESEARCHIN AND DREAMING OF BUYING ONE FOR LIKE 3 YEARS NOW...I FINALLY GOT THE MONEY READY AND AM NOW STUCK AT DESCIDING WHAT EXACTLY TO BUY...HERE ARE MY QUESTIONS
1.WHICH WOULD BE BETTER A 2000XL OR A 1000? I REALLY WANT TO STOP USING ALL THIS COMPUTER SOFTWARE AND START STRICTLY USING THE MPC...AND LATER BUY SOME TURNTABLES,MIXER AND A RECORDER...


2.IS THE MPC ALL I WILL NEED? MY CURRENT BUDGET IS ONLY ENOUGH TO BUY EITHER AN MPC 2000 OR AN MPC 1000 SO I WONT BE ABLE TO BUY ANY AMPS,SPEAKERS,RECORDERS.MIXER..ETC OR ANY ADDITIONAL HARDWARE....WILL I BE ABLE TO USE MY AKAI MPC TO MAKE BEATS WITH JUST THE MPC ITSELF AND MY NORMAL HOUSE STERO SYSTEM(WITH RCA JACK) OR WILL I NEED 2 BUT ADDITIONAL HARDWARE


3.MY LAST QUESTION IS HOW TO I RECORD MY BEATS FROM THE AKAI TO MY COMPUTER OR CD OR WHATEVER?...WILL I NEED 2 BUY A RECORDER?

I KNOW THESE ARE PROBABLY STUPID QUESTIONS..BUT ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED..THANKS

i think the 1000 will suit you. it's easy to connent to a computer.
later on i think you will have to buy some other gear to.
your home stereo will do.
for recording buy software or a multitrack.

Say cuz I on da run tryin to get to the Guitar Center really quick but when I come back I will answer all your ?'s playa give me 30 to 45 minutes cuz I will be right back! I have the XL and I just received my pre-ordered MPC 1000 today so I will let cha now what's real between the XL and the 1k OnE!

1000 blows the 2000 away with the 2GB flash mem and usb capabilities. It's a no brainer.

yeah i get what you are sayin..but i will be producin only Hip-Hop beats..so i think that i wont need that much memory..32mb should be good enough...but i dont know

1. Both machines has pro and cons. Both can make monster beats it's up to you to choose between them as to what features/options you are looking for and wanting to use when produicing a beat.

2. If you are on a tight budget then use whatever MPC you choose to get along with your PC. Find some free audioware on the internet somewhere and use that for recording/multitracking while you save up loot to get other better stuff in the future whether it's hardware or software..

3. Depends on your preference of PC software or audio gear to record.
Whtever you think you will be most comfortable using with AND what's within budget for you, that's what you get.

Whatever you end up getting, get as much memory as you can for that machine.. it will help when you start getting better and more elaborate with your techniques and skills. Sometimes, not all the time, your knowledge of sounds and samples can mean obtaining more RAM/Memory for your machine cause you learn how to freak/tweak stuff way harder and might need more samples than you initially expected..

ok well im pretty goo don the computer as it is...and i have ways of getting free software easily..i already have reason,soundforge,cubase,fruity loops,cool edit and a bunch of VST pugins and synths...so thats not a problem...but which one would you say is better if i can get both for the same price...

trying to decide between the mpc1000 and the roland mv8000...i will use it as only a drum unit with my motif es and triton studio andakai dps24 recorder...
