Bass Looping?? HELP

Ok i wanna sample a 2 second bass sound how do i loop/extend it so when i press the pad it plays forever i know theres a way to do this anyone?????

folks - this question gets asked ALL THE TIME
the problem is not in the machine, it's in the user's expectations. this is most commonly asked by people coming from an SP303/404 etc background.

this is not the ideal way for the mpc to work. it's "looping" function is best performed through the seqencer, not through Trim mode. i build all my songs without ever using the loop function in trim (except on single waveform sample).

there is no way to make the sample play again and again when you hit the pad once (note on) and turn off when you hit it again (note on). that's just not the way this machine thinks. what you're looking for is placing midi notes in the sequencer - same result, very different workflow.
