Exporting Sequence tracks.

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew a solid way to export midi and/or audio tracks out to a file(s) that I can open in a daw like Sonar.

For audio:

record through audiointerface

or

record the main outs within the mpc (mode+record, change input to "main out"), i think this is the better way cos better quality (no da/ad conversions), but you will need enough ram.

For midi:

record through midi interface

or save sequence as midi file. Never tried that one so dont ask me what happens of the different tracks.

They get mooshed together. if you want midi tracks saved separately you have to save them to midi as single-track sequences. Just use copy and paste up to the next empty sequence and save as midi.

if you import your mooshed midi track into Cubase , while it's hi-lighted , right click it ( pop up menu ) go to midi > disslove part > seperate channels.

Sonar may have something similar

this has been killing me lately...

tell me whatcha think bro...

1. everything internal, no DA conversions at all, dropping wave files into my daw.

2. multiple outs to a big ol mackie desk, eqing everything seperately and perfectly (imo hahah) and then recording into my daw.

oh... convertors are emu1820m aka digi002 hardware

hmmmm... quality wise? ive been trying to figure it out. honestly a lot easier to hone my kicks and subs when i can fuk widdem on an analogue desk seperately.

I like analog eqing a lot but for a good mixdown with a certain amount of tracks you will need a quality desk (preferable with full parametric eqs). The emu should be fine from what ive heard, never used them myself.

At the moment im mixing analog, beats from the mpc (all 6 outs) + recorded instruments into the desk, but i do alot of live dubbing while recording. Its got a pretty rough sound compared to the stuff i did working with cubase only, but i like it
