RUMOR I HEARD ABOUT THE 1000...

IVE BEEN ON A LOT OF MPC BOARDS...AND I KEEP HEARING THAT THE MPC1000 AND 2000XL HAVE A VERY DIFF SOUND..EVERYONES SAYIN THE 2000XL HAS A HARD DIRTY GRIMEY SOUND...AND THE 1000 HAS A WEAK CLEAN SOUND..IS THIS TRUE?...CAUSE THIS MAKE ME WANNA COPP A 2KXL INSTEAD OF THA 1K...

One of the efx on the 1000 is a bit-crusher. It gives a much dirtier sound which might be comparable.

Dutch- you're asking the same shnizz in a bunch of different threads. People will hit you back with what you want to know.

Total crap. I've owned both machines. The 1000 uses the same exact converters. All you're dealing with here is a bunch of 2000xl owners who are mad cuz they can't afford a 1000 now so they are trying to find fault with it. This ALWAYS happens. Aint no "dirty" or "grimy" 2000xl sound. It's the same damn sound engine. Don't believe the hype.

LoL yeah its is a little weird that the only people telling me that where people in the 2000xl forum..Lol damn this is the HARDEST decision i hav eever had 2 make....LoL if you have any points..pros/cons please let me know

Before the 1000, everyone's saying how the 3000 has a ruff raw sound and the 2000xl has a weak clean sound.

Hey who said the 2000(xl) got the same engine as the 1000? is this true?
i dont think so! if so prove it!

we all know the 2000 uses the s2000 engine, but while i researched the 1000 i couldnt find anywhere where it says it uses the s2000 engine!

anyways wait til i get my ram and i will show you how dirty the mpc 1k can get. ive been fooling with it all night with just the 16mb and all i can say is im very impressed at this little machine. dont let the small size and toy-like appearance fool you its a TOOTH chipper.

I've had all 3 machine's and this is what i think!!!..........I purchsed the 1000 a few weeks ago from Guildford on the strength of the low and high pass filters/Resampling/Fx/USB

My first thought was that the 1000 sounded very clean and crisp with some smooth FX plus the pads feel good.

After taking them into the studio the 2000xl sounds very very ridged and gritty,the 1000 is a totally diff sound.

I will always love the sound of the 3000 i use to have but found the features very long winded in the way i like to work

I think the 1000 will drop in price to (uk) £599 within the year and £499 within 2 at the most.

secondhand value will be about £350.00

With the way things are built today sound boxes like these will never sound as good as the old models. Remember 10 -15 years ago there was more relay's and shit inside these boxes which all added to the sound.

Look at the history and the sound of the MPC'S

60 (People still say has the best sound)
3000 (Smoother sound than the 60 but better features)
2000xl (Not has smooth or warm like the 3000)
1000 (Today's new sound chip's with a only a quarter of the parts inside)

I went through a part of my life stuck in the middle of what MPC to buy,now i look back and think what aload of shit!!!!

U can make great music on anyone of these boxes if you have great samples and good idea's. Always buy the equipment that works for you.

put your effort in makin music not talkin about it!!!!!

I am not sure if I believe macman. Here is a chronological listing of a few of his messages easily searchable in the forum. Note that he mentions having an MPC3000 before he even receives it. He praises the MPC1000 one hour and then curses it another. And then he attempts to disclaim himself by saying "only sayin what i heard". It is pretty obvious he is trolling and needs to be called on it. I doubt he has ever owned a single MPC.

Not sure if you cats noticed but you can use High Pass and Low Pass which makes it so much easier for clean ...

Since i put the new OS on it didn't get a crash.
I had the 1000 and 2000 set up last night next to each other and the 1000 really does sound so much better, feels tight ...
