No sound when connecting MPC1000 to DJM-800 mixer

I get no sound when connecting the MPC1000 to my
pioneer DJM-800 mixer's digital in.

The digital in on the DJM-800 accepts 44.1k,48k, and 96k ins.
The MPC1000 outputs a 44.1k signal. My cdjs play fine into the
digital ins.

The MPC should play, no?

By the way the analog ins work fine. What am I missing?

1. the DJM-800 supports only linear PCM through the digital in.
2. the MPC1000 sends non linear PCM through the digital out.

nothing can be done and the two are incompatible through the
digital in/out.

The best you can do is send the MPC1000 out to a soundcard
and back out to the mixer in as linear PCM.
