i find that the mpc 1000's Q sliders are really weak and flimsy.

compared to the rest of the tank built unit, the sliders are cheap like.

i feel Akai fu*ked up here.

when you spend £700...gosh.

cheap turntables have better pictch control sliders than this.

Well, I tought the same thing myself. They do feel a little flimsy and they move to the sides a little, instead of just going up and down. I just hope not to brake any of them.

I'm more concerned with how little they can control. Seems a shame that you can only control a single parameter on a single pad....

my 1000 arrived with one slider not working, then after a week the second one failed too... they flimsy alright - after two years I predict we'll all by swopping tips about how to replace them with something better - without paying exhorbitant fee to Akai for repairs!

DAMN Richard your q-link joints went out already! Sorry to hear that homie! My q-link's are fine! All u have to do is place your finger in the middle of the q-link slider and move it up and down then u str8! U don't have to grab it by the sides it's a slider not a knob! :D and even if u do grab it by the sides mine still feel GREAT! It doesn't feel cheap to me nor does the data wheel feel cheap either! 8) The MPC 1000 is built very nice in my opinion! :)

mine was one of the first handful produced, whoever made it probably didn't know what they were doing! I've changed for a later one now and it works fine
