i am thinking of getting an mpc. i keep reading how the different models sound a little different but wondered if they all contain the same quantize / swing settings. i want to be able to programme pretty lazy sounding beats but don't know which machine has the most scope to swing the beats or are they all pretty much the same? sorry if this is pretty obvious to most of you but i've never used an mpc before. thanks.

If you know how to program, you'l be able to program lazy feeling patterns on either machine. The feel/swing ability is arguably there between the models but it is more a case of spliting hairs.

The 2k/xl can do the job pretty musc aswel as the 3k

The 4k is probably a bit more flexible when it comes to quantize, editing & progamming swing because of the grid reference screen but the main point above still applies. Good programming skills on a MPC = Swinging patterns (The way you want them to swing 8) ) Any 1 can make a beat swing
