So I just bought a used MPC 1000 and I guess who ever had it before decided to load OS that they didn't have the password for. I can't recall the OS it's running but I think it might be in the 3.0 area.

So what should I do now? Download older OS that's free?

Can I not save my work without a password? Can I save to USB without a password?

Thank you.

Copy and pasted from the JJ OS website:

Version 3.06 is free version.

MPC1000 NEW OS is pay version.

Unless it puts in a password, the save of NEW OS is impossible.
The screen of SAVE will be displayed if a password is put in.
The charge of a password is US$ 30.00.
  Payment is PAYPAL only.

So, basically you are running a demo version of the JJ OS, any one of them after 3.06

You can download the free os from:

Why do you find the OS 2.10 so horrible? I am running it currently and I guess it's fine... maybe I don't know any better but I would like to know what is bad about it.

Thanks

I ran it for a few weeks (while i was learning the basic operations of the mpc) and I also had no problems.

But with a very miniscule amount of research (or just looking at all the "HELP" posts on here) I quickly learned that the OS has a fatal bug in which corrupts all ur saved data.

Known as the "New Folder bug" indicated here:
