How do you stop long notes at the next sequence ?

i need some help bad yall. i have a synth note that dont stop at the next step of a sequence . if you use the mpc1000 you no what im talking about . i need that note to stop as soon as i go to the next sequence. how do you fix this without cuting your sample short ? thanks need info asap

I do it the ghetto way.

I put the pad that the note plays in the same mute group as a pad that has nothing on it (like d10 or something). then when I drop the next sequence the first note on the new sequence is the note with nothing on it, that way it mutes the old note that would normally carry over into the next sequence.

The other way to do it is to make a new synth sound that stops exactly at the end of your sequence, then go into step edit and replace the old synth (the one that is too long for the sequence) with the new one that will stop short. But I prefer my ghetto way lol.


There are problably a million other easy ways to do it, this just works for me.

I would use mute groups and set the mute for that synth note to the same mute of an empty pad. When you hit the empty pad with the same mute (or a sample with the same mute) it will cut off the synth. make sense?
