Who here uses song mode

Just wonderin whats your opinion on the seq transitions on a 1000 in song modehttp://www.soundclick.com/util/getplayer.m3u?id=5370826&q=hi I posted a link to test this this beat is just 2 seq both just 2 bars goin back n forth let me know what you think

my opinion is that you should definitely use it

I never used it, I just make my loops and throw everything to the computer

It depends on what you're changing between and that's more about you than the machine. In terms of timing and glitches it's never given me any headaches.

What prompted the question? Have you been having trouble?

song mode's good, all works sweet.

i use it a fair bit, except when in a more live setting, then just tap between
seqs on the next seq page and drop mutes in an out on track mute page.

I've tried using it for build ups and the transaction just didnt sound smooth it doesnt come in really hard as far as breaks into a chorus or whatever its not to bad. this is all with perfect timing and both seq set a same bpm.

When I was first learning my MPC 60 I used to record things live and switch throughout the tracks, muting them and unmuting them. It worked for the time and I made simple beats but you couldn't turn two tracks on at once or change the entire loop altogether, etc.

Then when I got my MPC 1000 it all seemed to make sense. It was so much easier to use that I started using more features and got into song mode, which is now also my best friend.

I still sometimes do everything live though. I like that raw feeling.

hey everyone, im new to the mpc. I make my song by muting and unmuting tracks because i can jump into a new track back and forth so quick. Though the more complex the track gets the harder it gets to do this. Does song mode help this, so I usually make my whole song in one sequence. Is there a way to lay out track by track,like sequence to sequence in song mode? thanks
