Broken Q-Link Sliders

Hey guys. I'm quite new to the MPC1000, my sliders have just started playing up on me. It looks like a physical problem, maybe a loose connection, or maybe the tracks inside are just worn out.
I'm just wondering if anyone else here has had the same problem, and if they fixed it? I'm pretty good with electronics, so I'm probably just gonna rip the mpc apart and replace them. Does anyone know what part number they are or where i can get spares??

you can get spares through VST in the US, but i'd recommend getting one from RS or Farnell here in the uk. it'll be pennies compared to several pounds. i would check the connections before replacing them though. i've yet to get actual part numbers for RS or Farnell, but gimme a while and i'll get them for you, just need to crack open the mpc again, and get the multimeter out. i'd suggest you do the same, but if the sliders are faulty you'll get funny readings.

My other slider's busted (somehow Q1 won't work at all but when activated in mpc it takes weird signal from Q2). I even tried to fix the soldering on Q1, but that didn't help... but I'm good with using one so that's not a big issue.

Ok.... I've finally got round to fixing this.
The sliders need to be 10k and look pretty easy to replace. I'm about to go down maplins now and see if i can get a replacement.

yep Q2 is busted

10k good to know cause i haven´t had the streangt to crack it open again after changing the busted pads(still original, hopefully i can afford those new pads later)

come to think of "5-56" good to clean with and gives better contact and often make pots stop making crackling sounds...

just a thought
