how do you edit your beat?

once i have a beat that is looped, how do i edit it?

What do you mean? How do you edit what? Edit how the samples sound, or edit when they are triggered? What are you trying to edit?

i'm trying to maybe put some drops in my beat...take some sounds out and put them in at different times.

Maybe he didnt chop small enough so he cant Nym

i bet you're right - sometimes folks try to eat the whole steak without cutting it into manageable pieces

are you programming drum patterns with individual kick/snare/hat samples and then want to edit these patterns, or, are you laying down a loop (one long sample) and want to 'mute' it at certain times to create a drop?
The MPC is very basic as far as SONG mode goes, so I do this sort of thing in ProTools, someone else with experience like ANTONYM should be able to help......

No disrespect intended, its just that if you want specific answers then you need to ask specific questions.

if you have a daw, record there then edit thats the fastest most efficient way i know. it is doable on the mp tho

Are you maybe looking to use the step edit feature??? with this you can rearrange your drum pattern, take things out , drop things in etc!!!
