Sample in mono...also create urself an autoload folder(you'll need a mem card other than 1 that came with MPC). What i did when i first got my stuff was i kept a few of the Kits that came with it, Standard set,R Bass, and the one with the 808's(cant remember the name), then i purged the unused samples, then i loaded a kit or 2 from the cf card(in folder marked autoload-not internal, those are the sounds that load when u boot up already.), Then i sampled a drum break chopped it up and made my own kit . I saved all this as an autoload on a new memory card. When u ready to turn on MPC, load ur mem card in the slot, then Power on. U'll have only the samples and pgms u want, and u should have more sample time... I m getting my RAM next week and i had my MPC for like 14 mos. so RAM is something u wanna get when u can, but it wont keep u from makin beats...The Older MPC's only came w/ 2mb and the 60's came with 750KB...so RAM aint gonna hurt you, learn the MPC u'll figurrre things out everyday,read the manual too.) But sample in MONO( stereo samples are 2 mono samples so if u sample mono u'll get double the amt of sample time.)
