Hey all.

Can anyone confirm is there a way to increase the midi note length on the 1000. I'm controlling a soft synth through the mpc and out to my computer, playing notes and chords on a midi keyboard and recording them on the MPC which is then triggering the sounds on the soft synth.

the problem I have is the midi note length on the MPC seems to be limited to 27 bars so if I record a sequence with a chord longer than that when I replay it it justs stops on the twenty seventh bar. I have tried all the truncate options so the midi is recorded as played etc and have the latest MPC OS update 2.11

any ideas fellow MPC dudes?

i haaaaaaaate long midi notes because if you try to play from any point after the actual note itself you don't hear the (in your case) chord playing

27 bars? wow. thats about the longest i've heard.

what i would do for the sake of the "sustain" is have the chord last 1 bar (normal attack) and have the same chord hit again and again every bar with a gentle attack so you can't really tell it's being struck again. simulate your sustain - this way you don't always have to hit play from the first of the 27 bars.

weird solution to a weird problem but then again i dont know the whole story - why exactly are you trying to make this sucker last 27 bars?

I am, just recently learning to use step edit , so maybe going into Step Edit and locating the event and then increase the Duration...Or reduce the duration and Copy it in Step edit for as many times that you need..

hi thanks for the response.

I have tried the step edit duration it's max is 9999 which equates to 27 bars. so even though you play a note for longer it will only re-trigger for 27 bars.

I'm using the MPC in a sort of song mode (turning off the loop option) and recording my synth parts and control changes 27 bars is not that long if your trying to work in a song mode.

Thanks for the help anyway it looks like it's just the limitation of the thing...
