i might already know the answer to this. ive been trying to make breakbeat tracks, and for sequencing purposes, ableton is a lot easier. by that i mean sequencing automated parts from synths and plugins, which obviously the mpc will only hav limited control with. however, when i sequence my midi loops thru the mpc, i.e the drums (but also every other layer) it sounds loads better cos the swing the mpc applies, as opposed to abletons robotic swing.
wats my best option. if i start of making basic sequences in the mpc, and then record the midi data back into ableton...i will lose the swing wont i?
so should i record all midi sequences made in the mpc to audio tracks into ableton, so that i can master it and re-sequence. the prob with this is that i imagine that it will retain the swing as it will b recorded as an audio file into ableton from the mpc, but then i wont b able to edit the midi paramaters. so it seems either i lose the swing of the mpc, and hav full control of my plugins in ableton, or keep the swing but lose the paramters? is that right? is there anyway round this?
i was thinking of recording the seq into the mpc direct via midi, once i like the seq, recording back into ableton via midi, adding the automaton i want, and then recording the midi data back into the mpc. can this b done?
hopefully someone will understand my predicament here. otherwise, thanks for at least trying to read my confusing problem. ive kinda confused my self a little bit too.
