Question About Internal Hard Drive Data

Hello, I just purchased a new Akai MPC 1000. When I got it (used) there was a program with samples loaded into the internal memory. I've tried everything from reinstalling the OS to saving and loading various programs and samples over it but they simply won't go away. How do I delete them or do a hard reset of the machine???
